The Winter League is a weekly smallbore rifle league.
Schedule
We will meet Monday nights, typically from the end of September to the end of March, but see the calendar above for current dates and times. The range will open at 5:15 with the first relay starting at 5:30 and a second at 6:15 for those who can’t make it there by 5:30. During each relay shooters have 45 minutes to fire 4 strings of 10 shots on the A36 target with .22 rifles. We provide the targets, you provide the rest of the gear. Shooters may choose their combination of positions, and either scopes or iron sights are acceptable.
We award prizes at our annual banquet for the classes listed below. You’re also welcome to come out, even if you do not want to bother with the scores; the more the merrier. This is a great way to keep your eye up during the winter, getting ready for hunting, or just having fun punching some holes in targets. There is no formal coaching, but some limited coaching could be arranged for new shooters. Cost for range fees and prizes is $40 per half, $80 for the full season. Open to Boulder Rifle Club members and to the public.
Classes
You can shoot only 4 positions towards each score. You MUST shoot the same positions each week. These are the classes we are using:
- Silhouette: 4 Standings
- Biathlon: 3 Standings + 1 Prone
- Highpower: 2 Standings + 1 Prone + 1 Sit/Kneel
- Smallbore: 1 Standings + 1 Prone + 2 Sit/Kneel
- Prone: 4 Prones
