Boulder Rifle Club has an active Junior Highpower Program that is focused on competition and refinement of precision skills. Juniors get special coaching from club experts, have access to AR15s for practice and competition and shoot weekly during the season. During the off-season, juniors learn to appreciate the ammunition they shoot by reloading their own (after extensive training) and get a special deal on pricing due to their diligence. Four highly qualified coaches assist in the advancement of technical skills as well as mental management, since many people say shooting is 90% mental and 10% physical. After sufficient familiarization with the rifle, juniors are highly encouraged to compete in local Colorado matches and other surrounding states, to ready themselves to compete in the National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio.
During the season (April – Sept) we meet Thursday afternoons, 4:30 – 6:30PM. During the off-season, we have classroom instruction and reloading on alternate Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:00PM. Reliable attendance and responsible behavior are required.
